Bill's superpower was organization, a talent that manifested itself first in High School and grew over the course of thousands of events and decades. His gifts led him to find his place within sporting and enthusiast communities throughout the state, the country, and the world.
From track meets to beer festivals, he ran things “the Bill Roe way,” and it was smooth. More than that, Bill was a compassionate, encouraging, and empowering coach, colleague, and friend. He saw the best in others, taught them to believe in themselves, and brought anyone under his wing. As Gandalf said, “It was the simple acts of kindness and love” that exemplified Bill.
With an impact so strong in life, it only seems fitting that Bill’s team of fans go the extra mile to commemorate his legacy. So, in an effort to continue his ripple effect in a tangible way, we'd like to introduce you to the Bill Roe WWU Endowment, a long-term fund offering financial support to in-need student-athletes participating in Track and Field and/or Cross Country.
Bill’s family is matching all donations up to $20,000 (likely more). We invite Bill’s track and field global family to donate in memory of Bill. He would have loved it!
