We are pleased to announce that the first-ever recipient of the Jamie Foland-Tseng Memorial Scholarship is Alicia Hernandez Perez! 

Alicia, a Junior Psychology major, is honored and grateful to receive this award and carry on Jamie’s legacy through her own studies at Western. When she learned that she received this scholarship, she wrote, “I really appreciate your help, having this financial support will help me be able to pay for my tuition. I am so happy to know that there are people like you helping students like me achieve my goals. You motivate and inspire me to help others by giving back to my community. I hope that I will be able to follow in your footsteps and give back to others in all the ways possible.”

We continue to cherish the memories we have of the many ways that Jamie positively impacted the lives of others and this scholarship support is such a meaningful way to honor her. Thank you again for your generosity.

Thank you so much for your generous gifts in memory of Jamie. It is difficult to find the right words to express to you how meaningful your love and support is to us. Because of you, we will be able to honor Jamie, as well as her courage, grace, and compassion by providing much needed scholarship support for students who were adopted or from underprivileged backgrounds.

Our plan is to endow the scholarship to make it lasting and permanent. The first scholarship award will be made this spring. We will let you know when the first scholarship recipient is chosen.
