Dr. Joann Otto, chair of the Biology Department since 2004 and retired in 2016, suddenly and tragically passed away while exercising on campus in the spring of 2024. Joan was a much beloved and respected teacher and department chair. Her legacy was a well-run department and a passion for engaging donors, alumni, and friends and establishing long-term relationships for Biology and the College of Science and Engineering.
In honor of the work she has done, the Joann Otto Microscope Endowment was formed in her lifetime with the purpose of enhancing, upgrading, and purchasing microscopic equipment for the Biology Department, a cause near to her heart.
Please join us in making a gift in memory of Joann to the fund she established to make sure that Biology students would have some of the best microscope technology available.
Thank You.
