Hello WWU Judo Alumni and Donors!
As our closest supporters we wanted to keep you in the loop about our club/department during these uncertain times. As you might imagine, our trip to Japan is currently up in the air. While we are disappointed, we are also hopeful that it may work out for us. Your donations will still be used for entry fees to tournaments, supplies, and other travel if we are unable to make this trip. We did get funding from the AS allowing us to purchase airline tickets and are excited for the possibility to making it to Japan. We could not be pursuing this opportunity without your support and wanted to reiterate our heartfelt thanks to you for your crucial investment in our operations. Our goal is to be good stewards of your generous donations-we will continue to let you know what our plans are as soon as we are able to seal down the details! Thank you again for the impact that your donation has made.
Best,
WWU Judo
A 20$ donation can sponsor a student to attend two sessions at the national hall of Judo in Japan, the Kodokan. Opened by the founder of Judo, Jigoro Kano, the hall serves as a pilgrimage site, museum, and place of high level practice!
We are hoping to attend a session of Judo at the Paralympics in Tokyo towards the end of our trip, by donating at this level you can help us to buy a ticket for a student.
This level will help pay for one student's in country transportation. With the famous public transit infrastructure that Japan has, we will be riding a lot of different kinds of trains!
By donating at this level you can guarantee that one of our students has housing during our trip covered! This includes about 9 nights at hostels from the Kodokan in downtown Tokyo to anywhere else we end up.
A donation at this level can fully fund a round trip ticket to and from Japan!
